Lived Short, But Lived like a King …

Dhoni has always been known for his keen sense of Timing, and he proved it again. Losing 6th consecutive series overseas, he sensed that things are rumbling. He is someone, who listens to his heart always, And this decision proves the worth. For all those who seem pretty much astonished on his retirement from tests, he himself declared, during the Australian series in 2012, that by the end of 2013 he will quit Test Cricket. Fortunately OR Unfortunately he took another year.

I personally respect Dhoni, for just one reason, He challenged everyone sitting in every newsroom of the country and “Did”, what others could just talk about, Everytime.

Raina tweeted yesterday that – “Valiant while you led. Valiant in your departure”, Indeed, Attitude of one’s teammates, reflects his leadership.

Dhoni was discovered via the BCCI’s small-town talent - spotting initiative, ‘Talent Resource Development Wing’, by PC Podar, former captain of a Bengal side in the 1960s. He worked as a ticket collector at the Kharagpur Railway station for 3 years to support his family. He has been honored with the prestigious rank of Lt. Colonel by the Indian Army. He made India, world champions in all formats of cricket still if somebody says that he ran from responsibilities by declaring his retirement, when just one match is left in this series, So that he may not lose a damn record of highest no. of test defeats by an Indian Test Captain; May God Bless your judgmental Skills.

Dhoni has always been the unpredictable, He always chose the least favourable path and attained victory. He has always been different from others, and the number of trophies on his shoulder answers, Why!

We all are aware about the habitual Indian Media, They make you a king if the direction of wind is on your side, and you will soon become more than a terrorist if you did something unbearable and Failed. Let this dhoni win the World Cup 2015, and the same Times of India, who published an article today saying that he is running from responsibilities, will write an entire 2 page graphical representation, praising his leadership skills. And of he didn’t, then we all know the reaction, “It’s for Dhoni to even leave ODIs.”

Sachin Tendulkar tweeted yesterday – “Well done on a wonderful career in test cricket. Always enjoyed playing together. Next target 2015 WC My Friend !!”. Can’t you sense the amount of Gratitude, Wisdom and Faith in this tweet.

He lived short in test cricket, But yes he lived like a King. Grant me a sorry on saying this, but he took his glamour and charm along with him. Not like others who were molested by BCCI & Indian Media to leave captaincy. By the time he was there on the batting order, amongst the “remaining batsman”, we had faith, that a Magic can Happen. He came like a Prince and went Like a King, given throne respectfully to a New Prince.

  • Dhoni Holds the record of most wins as a captain in Tests for India (27).
  • He has scored 3,454 runs as test captain, most by any Indian Captain.
  • He made the highest score in an innings by an Indian Captain (224).
  • He has most sixes by an Indian Captain (51).
  • Has the most no. of consecutive wins by an Indian Captain (6).
  • He also has the most dismissals by an Indian Keeper (294).
Under DHoni’s captaincy Indian team became the first team to white wash the Australia in a Test Series after 20 years. No doubt the best Indian Captain so far, and still if someone says that he ran from responsibilities, Again; May God Bless Your Judgmental Skills.

“Didn’t wait for 100 tests, finished on 90. Didn’t asked for last test in India. Didn’t announced before the last test, for farewell. #MSD #RESPECT” – was a random tweet yesterday.

He is Simple, Elegant and carries a Personality: Like a King. God Bless You my Friend, there are many Glorious Victories coming towards you, Trust me on that.
