10 Things That Indians Do, Just Because others are Doing …

The Incredible Country, With a diverse variety of People and Tastes. I have tried to highlight some of the points, that People in India Follow, Just Because others are doing them. Add Your Own, If I have missed any and Share It. ;)

1. Branded Clothing: You know, on the streets of Lucknow and Delhi one can find clothes at very low cost yet of superior quality. They are not Branded but they can beat any brand in terms of quality. We Indians buy clothes with very high price tag, Unnecessarily. We assume quality by looking at the price tag.

2. Buy Smart Phones, To Use Whatsapp or Play SubwaySurfer: The Only reason why 90% of people around me have bought a 20,000 ruppees phone, is to use whatsapp, click selfies or play candycrush. Well, Smart Phones are actually meant to do some Smart Stuff. -_-

3. No Shave November: The campaign was recently started from the west for Cancer Awarenerss. The Idea of the campaign was to save money that we spend on grooming and hair styling in one month, and then donate it for Cancer Treatment and Awareness. But We, as always, made our own version of it. We updated our cover pics, profile pictures just for the sake of doing it.
4. Calling Indian Rupee as Bucks: Not all currencies can be called as ‘bucks’. You dare to speak it in front of a tourist from USA, and he will give you the worst expression you have ever seen.

1$ is called a buck because, in older times, the skin of deer that was sold in US was of 1 dollar. From there, the word for 1$ came i.e. "Buck".

5. Hypocrisy and Following what others are doing: Let it be Death of Paul Walker, Michael Jackson, Retirement of Sachin Tendulkar, “Abki Baar Modi Sarkaar” OR the recent Peshwar attacks. 95% of the people actually don’t know the basis and actual reasons of these events, but they start following it just because others are doing. It looks Cool You see.

You Know, Michael Jackson was the most searched personality in India on Google, The week he died. And I remember how certainly, soon everyone became the ultimate fan of Michael Jackson.

The similar case with 'Modi sarkar', None knew the policies of BJP OR what BJP has done, they started following just because others are doing. [No offenses to Modi Sarkaar, I myself support them, the point is knowing what you are doing.]

6. Tuesdays, Saturdays, Black Cat & The Lizard: We probably are the king of superstitions. No haircut, No nail cutter, No egg, No Non Veg. The Ultimate days. A Black Cat crossing our way and A lizard falling on our head can probably change our decisions.

7. I am an Entrepreneur: This is the new talk of the town. People Become Entrepreneurs (using their parent's wealth), Just to update their Social Media profiles as CEOs, It sounds cool Yo!

8. My Hobby is Reading Novels & I have read just Chetan Bhagat: This one is my favourite. I have met 100s of people in past some years whose hobby have been to Read Novels. Next question you ask them, “So what all books have  you read ?” and the Reply, “Five Point Someone, 2 States and The Half Girlfriend.” People find something stylish in expressing “Reading” as their Hobby, But all they have read is Chetan Bhagat.

9. English Tracks: I have no offences with people Listening Punk or Rock or Trans. But that doesn’t mean who listens to “Jagjit Singh, Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi” are old school. The point is that most of the people listening to Foreign Music, Neither understand the Lyrics nor they have any information about the class or type of Artist. They just do it because others are doing it.

10. Drinking & Bragging about it: If someone can drink 10 cans of Beer he is Solid. They will brag it throughout the next day among the whole friend circle, as if they have done something out of the world, That should be applauded and others can’t do it.
