Ashamed of Being a Hindu !! ??

Mark that, the title includes an Exclamation mark as well as a Question mark at the end, as even I am confused which expression should I follow.

Jis Hindu kaa Khoon naa khaule, Khoon Nahi Vo Paani hai … (Those Hindu’s whose blood doesn’t boils, don’t have blood but water … ) is one of the slogans coined by RSS. And who gave them the right to constitute this in their own terms.

“Jai Siya Ram” used to be the cry of those, who attacked Muslims in the 1993 riots of Mumbai. How beautifully, L K Advani and his associates, modified one of the most sacred lords of Indian Mythology as a catalyst for war.

I am myself a Hindu, but no Shloka ever taught me to kill people following other religions, for the sake of “preserving Hinduism.” This shows How “insecure” we are!

“Will Raise Hindu population to 100%”, says Pravin Togadia, a leader of VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad). I pity, he never said, “Will raise Indian GDP to 10%” OR “Will raise Literacy rate among Hindu Females to 100%.” One’s ambitions defines his way of achieving success.

They talk about Hindu Population, they talk about conversion, then they themselves talk about reconversion. “Hum hindu hain, Hindustan Humara hai, Hum yahan ke maalik hain”, said former RSS pracharak and VHP organizing secretary, Dinesh Chandra. He has forgotten those wars in which millions of Muslims, Christians, Jains, Shikhs have lost their lives to keep India free and Independent.

The Image portrayed by these, so called saviors and keepers of Hinduism, have tainted the impression of Hinduism. I won’t ever comment that they are not “Hindus”, Indeed they are, But this is not the Hinduism that we practice. 

Tehreek – e – Talibaan Pakistan (TTP), performing monstrous acts on the name of “Allah”. Indeed they are Muslims, but this is not what “Islam” teaches. I have been listening since my childhood that, “Islam prohibits the killing of innocents, one innocent killed is the killing of humanity.” But we all are much familiar with the inhuman and coward act they have done in Peshawar. From centuries, Politicians, Terrorists have been using Religions to frame their agendas. Religion seems to be a very sensitive and obvious topic, through which Mass can relate.

The much trending, “conversion row”, activated by RSS and VHP, is another silly example of foolish facts and logics stated by these groups. They are the only ones shouting that the hindu population is declining, while most of the statistical studies have debunked the theories of declining hindu numbers. And even if its true, I feel substantially happy that at least hindus are sensible enough to initiate Population Control drive in India, and are contributing in the development of the country.

Interestingly, “Reconversion” is being promoted as a voluntary return, while “conversion” is said to be illegitimate in few cases and legitimate in the other. Now the question arises, “How can a religion, into which one is born without choice, be voluntary ?” Pulling up threads on Conversion or Reconversion harms the shadow of Democracy. Indian is a Democratic and a Secular state. Where one, has a right to choose his/her faith. Conversions signifies mobility, flexibility and plurality.

Kuran, Bible or Gita, basis are same. It’s insane and a never ending debate to talk which is superior. What’s good about our country is that we have freedom to follow, whichever we want to. What RSS and VHP have been doing on the name of Hinduism, is baseless and useless. When we have problems like poverty, illiteracy and unemployment, we are busy discussing Religion Conversion. Those books are same for all of us, it depends upon the intellect of the reader how he/she interprets the words written in those books.
