Today's Sense of Teaching ...

They ask a question, you try to answer and they dictate you, "Don't Argue!"

In two years of Engineering and 12 years of school education, that too from 5 different schools, I have been treated by thousands of teachers. Some of them are still connected to me, some are like my mother to me, some are like father, some are like brothers, i duly respect them, although I could never express, but I do! But there is another lot who has been like they own us, they can do whatever they want to do with our career and education, they can speak whatever they want to and they can treat us however they want to., and we can't say anything, as we have to pass the Exams too ... :)

I am apologizing in advance, but I am not talking about all of the teachers these are few special ones. In few recent cases:

1. One of my friend got a supplementary in a subject in which he scored 56 marks in mid semester exam and he was confident that in the end semester exam also he will score at least 40-50, which are more than enough to pass. But unfortunately he didn't cleared that subject. When he went to the teacher to ask what happened sir, The teacher replied, in his local accent, "Engineering hai beta, ye to chalta rahta hai ." (I am sorry i don't know any smiley for sarcasm.)

2. In another case, a girl was filed as a UFM (Unfair means) case in the examination, just because she has written her examination room no. on her hand. Which was interpreted as a cheating case, as nothing is allowed to be written on hands.

3. Another friend of mine was awarded unfair means because He certainly argued, as The invigilator compelled him to stay inside the  examination room for next one and a half hour, when he has already finished his paper, provided college's rules says that a student is allowed to leave the room after one hour of the commencement of the exam. Somebody please ask them, can they sit inside a room for one and a half hour, when they are not supposed to utter a word, can't use mobile, laptop or anything, just sit still.

There are hundreds of such cases, where interesting punishments have been given to us for pretty much similar reasons. They start criticizing you in front of everyone for something you haven't committed at all, you try to explain your stand, and you are arguing.

More interesting part is that, they ask you, "What do you think of yourself ? Why are you misbehaving ?" You try to answer, "Sir I wasn't misbehaving, i am just trying to say that ............", "Shut up! Don't you have manners, this is what your parents have taught you, you argue with your teachers !". I seriously want to understand the meaning of this word argument, If you don't want to listen an answer, Why the hell you ask one! If you already have a mindset that we are wrong, what's the point of calling us and asking, that too when you are not ready to listen the explanation.

Some common, Latest trends are, They Threaten you: "I can ruin you career!!", "With this attitude I won't let you pass this examination .." etc. etc. Few People may disagree with me, some may say I am being rude or arrogant, But you ask any guy in any college these days, 8 out of 10 will agree with me. I am saying all this, because I have myself faced all this and have also witnessed other's cases, not once, not twice but many times. Such teachers are ruining the essence of Education, the fun of Education. I still have few teachers who have guided me like my Mother, who have helped me everywhere in all the circumstances but as I said earlier these are different.

At last you have to compromise, with the situation, with the system, with the teacher. You have to say sorry, you have to accept all the terms and clauses with your head bowed downwards. But guys it's not about sorry, its not even about listening all that, it's about either we are wrong or not, Just by asking a question in the class, or just by disagreeing to what he is saying, How do we become culprits. Everyone knows we are students, we are not going to run here and there to prove we are right. We have to attend classes, no body is going to grant us attendances just because we are trying to prove ourselves right. And then finally your parents and even your soul says, end this crap, just say whatever he wants to listen, Just listen whatever he wants to say and end this bull shit. You know, just like Indian Government, they know common man, they know that nobody's going to fight as nobody has time. They tease you, they provoke you, they talk in the most ill mannered way to you, but they are right because they are the teachers and you are wrong, because you have to spend next 2 or 3 year in the same school or college.

I can't say where could all this end, or where is it heading towards, all I know is that it's not good, It's not healthy, Because to develop good leaders, good engineers or doctors you have to provide an environment to the students where they can think, unbounded! And they can do mistakes without the fear that there career will be destroyed. And I must say, most of the schools and colleges in India are failing to provide that environment.

KBC's Ethical Entry: Touching advertisements

KBC's advertisements very well target the Indian sentiments, touch the religious and regional chord.

Kaun Banega Crorepati's 8th season will be on air from mid of august, meanwhile as always KBC has knocked the television sets with the well known charisma of Mr. Amitabh Bacchan and sentimental topics running across the country like the Hindu - Muslim issue and our North eastern friends.

A bit of History, Civics and Geography of the show:
KBC was first aired in 2000 based on the famous UK based game show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and was hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Since then KBC has screened 7 seasons with two broadcasting channels Star plus (Season 1,2 & 3) and Sony Tv (4 to till date) and Shahrukh Khan also joined the show as an anchor in Season 3 (2007) because BigB couldn't continue due to his bad health. He came back in season 4 (2010) and in season 5 (2011) KBC became the most popular show on Indian television and broke many TRP Records. CNN IBN awarded Mr. Amitabh Bachan and the Team KBC as Indian of the Year- Entertainment. KBC was played on various channels in Pakistan and was hugely followed by Pakistani audience. The show also won acclaim in UK, USA and Canada.

"Common Man", being the central point in last season, "Everyday Heroes and Community Bonding" will be the theme for this season. "There are many contestants that come to the game show with great aspirations and expectations and if through the show and the game, we can give them an opportunity to become a game-changer in their life, it gives all of us great satisfaction," BigB said in an interview. And added, "Yahan sirf paise hi nahi, Dil bhi jeete jaate hain".

This promo ad was screened on air in the month of may and it clearly indicates the intentions of the show, that how a 70 year old man made his wife happy regardless of that he won just 40,000 INR.

Other commercials being screened these days are far more sentimental and focused to create awareness on certain issues in the country.

In this ad the girl Purnima belongs to a north eastern state and her first question is, "The city Kohima is in which country?" and the options were Nepal, China, India and Bhutan, surprisingly the girl opts for an audience poll, and BigB tells her the result as, 100% people says its India and adds, "Everybody knows this!" to which the girl ironically replies, "Yes! Everyone knows it, but how many believe it?" This ad successfully comments on the racism and alienation of our friends from northeastern states often designated as Chinese or Nepali.

Continuing the legacy of hiding the facts, a Government official filed a complaint with the Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC), to discontinue the ad as the promo could create controversies and the question about Kohima was in extremely bad taste. I must say, "Why he never filed a complaint when these people were facing brutal attacks almost everywhere in the country."

Another ad featuring a Hindu - Muslim neighborhood. The Hindu family sees off their son with traditional Tikka and Aarti for the KBC and the Muslims mock them. During the show The Hindu guy stucks on the question, "What's the meaning of As-salamu alaykum ?" And he opts to call a friend, and the phone rings in the Muslim family and the our arrogant, yet cute Khan BaBa answers, "Allah Tumhe Salamat rakhe beta!".

The ads send a great message to all the Indians and the Mankind, but observing what's happening in Saharanpur, we still can't say how much impact they can do on those politicians who divide us.

A lot can happen over a Coffee ... :)

It's all about, just how, few of the very simple things achieve such a great importance in our life. I personally am a great admirer of Google, but in this case, it's not about the CCD (Cafe Coffee Day), it's about the "Coffee". Well, this post is not for advertising CCD neither my blog is sponsored by them (Although I wish, someday they do! ). It's not about all those calorie burning facts, but some moral psychology which I have often noticed.

The points mentioned below are all about cold coffee, I never prefer the hot one.
  • A blessing for us at the exam times, you just need to have a strong one, and I bet neither you will sleep nor you will let others. :)
  • Once I went to CCD with my Girlfriends (Ex), we spent more than 2 hours there that day, with continuous talks, and then suddenly she looked at me and said, "I am feeling bad that, how much time I have wasted in all those movies and shopping with you, when we could have just sat here with hours of talks and know each other better." What else do you need man. ;)
  • Some misunderstandings occurred between me and a very good friend of mine, leading to some differences, we didn't speak to each other for almost 2 months, one day I instantaneously called her and just asked her she is free, we met at a restaurant, and the only thing we ordered was Cold Coffee, till the last sip of it, all our problems were solved, she said sorry to me and I confessed my mistakes to her :)

See! Several good things have happened to me over Coffee, I bet there could be many for you too. Coffee is a stress buster, it relaxes mind and I don't know how, but it makes people talk! And that's all you need to solve misunderstandings, as in 90% of the break ups, "lack of conversation" is the basic problem, and the worst part is that, we are never able to identify that it's the reason.

Did you know? In the ancient Arab culture there was only one way a woman could legally divorce: If her husband didn’t provide enough coffee. I wish if the rule still persisted, I am sure there would have not been any break ups.

" I am not saying that it's some kind of magical drink that will sort out all your problems, but yes it certainly offers you a mind to do so, rest depends on you. "

So from next time whenever you want to start a new thread in your life, start it with a nicely brewed "Kaapi Nirvana (That's my favourite from the CCD's menu)", as, "A lot can happen over a Coffee" :)

And if you are low on cash, just like me ;) , here's a better way:
One of the most easiest ways to make cold coffee (Especially for students living at hostels): Use an empty bottle of Bislery (or any other that does not leaks and you won't mind losing it), get cold, refrigerated packet of milk and pour into it, pour some sugar and coffee, as you would prefer, Strong or light ;) Shake it well, and that's it, Just within 5 minutes perfectly finely blended coffee is ready ;) in just rupees Rs. 30, the best part, no issue of washing any utensils simply throw away the bottle. ^_^

Shayari #002 (शायरी #002)

Kai baar kaha usne jhukne ko par mai aaj bhi khada hun ...
Tu bahut gir gayi hai mohabbat, mai tujhse bahut bada hun ...

Kya khauf is zamane kaa, mai mehfilon me gazalen sunata hun ...

Ye zamana meri nigaahen padh nahi pata, mai kahan kuch chupata hun ...

Har nishaani mita di maine, par aaj bhi uski paayal sambhal ke rakhi hai ...

Mohabbat ke badle shauhrat mang li, usne shart kamaal ki rakhi hai ...

Vo mohabbat ke khilaf hai, mai mohabbat ke khilaaf nahi ...

Bahut pilaayi usne, ayyashi mila kar, BAS AB AUR SHARAB NAHI ...

"romeo"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can SENSEX ever touch 1,00,000 !!! ???

A fancy question for most of us !! especially when market is on a roller coaster ride these days. BSE (Bombay stock exchange) benchmark and SENSEX(Stock Exchange Sensitive Index) have become common words in day to day life. So Can SENSEX ever touch 1,00,000? The question somehow came to my mind yesterday evening as so much is being talked about the economy, FDI, market and growth so, I decided to research about it.

To find out the answer I went to my favourite book Google. After doing a bit of research I was ready with the conclusion, and the answer is YES, SENSEX can touch 1,00,000. Now the next question could be When? Let's talk about the answer.

While going through different pages, I came to know that I wasn't the only one with this question, as it has already made headlines on the leading business publications of the country, in the first week of June'14. The speculations started due to a report by Karvy Stock Broking, which stated that the SENSEX could touch the fancy figure of 1,00,000 by 2020. Well, I personally partially agree with the statement, maybe because the report is a bit older for me.

Let's get down to our question:

To understand the answer, first we have to understand what is SENSEX and how does it work?
The SENSEX is nothing but a weighted indicator of the prices of 30 big Indian companies, listed on BSE, The companies are some of the largest and most actively traded stocks and representative of various industrial sectors of the Indian economy.
If the stock prices of these 30 companies will rise, the SENSEX will rise, keeping in mind that these companies represent the whole of India, we would say the value of the Indian market will rise.

Now, How or Why would the stock prices of these 30 companies will rise?

Companies manufacture goods or the services companies provide different types of services through their products and in return they earn a profit. Companies reinvest this profit into its expansion and acquiring new platforms in order to increase its revenue and reach. The stock price of any company describes the value of the company. As the process continues, in the long run, company's business expands, it's revenue increases and it earns more profit. The value of the company increases and hence the price of the stock will increase because more and more people will buy shares of that company and more investors will invest in this company.

As a matter of fact, from a low of 7,697 in October 2008, SENSEX tripled to its current 25,000, in less than 6 years, and that too when the economy was facing one of its worst times. I can personally predict the SENSEX to reach 1,00,000 before 2025. Which means an annual increase of 7500 points per fiscal year, i.e. On an average 15% increase annually. With a bit of more research I found out that, It has happened before in US.  Share prices have jumped 25% every year in global markets in the past. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average experienced its most spectacular rise in 1980s after a slowdown. "From a mere 777 on August 12, 1982, the index grew more than 1,500% to close at 11,722.98 by January 14, 2000."

But to achieve such a number, Indian Government has to play an important role. With it's first budget, Modi government gave clear indication to boost production and infrastructural development in the country, as weak infrastructure and poor policies have always fed the bear in India. Government has to speed up the process of project clearances in order to invite investors. Government has to provide a healthy environment for the investors. So far in 2015, India has gained FDI of around 31 Billion Dollars, surpassing China & even USA. This shows how bullish globally investors are on India.

Achieving such high growth of 15% in the next few years shouldn’t be difficult for the SENSEX, but sustaining it over a longer period will not be easy. Hope the government will take the right steps and help the SENSEX to achieve this glamorous number.

Shayari #001

Samet le in lafzon ko, aur ek jawab bana de ...
Tu so jaa meri baahon me, aur ek khwab bana de ...

Yun to naa pee paaunga mai tere is tohfe ko ,

tu chuu le ye zahar aur ise sharab bana de ...

Har roz tu nazaren jhukaaye khamosh guzar jaati hai,

aaj dekh meri nigaahon me, aur ek awaaz bana de ...

Log kahte hain, mai yun hi gazalen padhta acha lagta hun,

tu aur bewafa ho jaa, aur yahi mera andaaz bana de ...

"romeo"

------------------------------------------------------------------

BRICS'14 summit: Rise of a New Empire

What is BRICS? About BRICS'14 summit? How it will affect India and the world !
BRAZIL, RUSSIA, INDIA, CHINA, SOUTH AFRICA

What is BRICS ?
BRICS stands for an acronym of 5 major emerging economies of the world, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, formed to build better global economic ties among all five nations, so that they can grow together and compete with various developed economies. The group was formed in 2008 and was initially coined as "BRIC", before the inclusion of South Africa. Officially South Africa was included on 24 Dec, 2010 and attended its first summit in 2011. Today BRICS accounts for 27 per cent of global GDP, 18 per cent of global tradeThe term, "BRICS", was coined by economist Jim O'Neill in his publication, Building Better Global Economic BRICs.

BRICS'14 summit
It was the 6th BRICS summit, inaugurating the second cycle of BRICS summits, as one summit has already been hosted by each nation, hosted in Fortaleza, Brazil. The theme for this summit was "Inclusive Growth: Sustainable Solutions”, in order to simultaneously achieve growth, inclusiveness, protection and preservation among all the 5 nations.

  • Leaders Participating in this summit were:
  1. Dilma Rousseff, President, Brazil
  2. Vladimir Putin, President, Russia
  3. Jacob Zuma, President, South Africa
  4. Xi Jinping, President, China
  5. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister, India

  • Fortaleza Declaration: This declaration consisted of 72 points which was formulated and signed by all the leaders representing their respective countries. To read all the 72 points one can refer to the Ministry of External Affair's website, However, few major points of the declaration have been enlisted below:
  1. BRICS have strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, in the declaration, and stressed that there can be no justification for any acts of terror based on ideological, political or religious issues.
  2. The declaration has several points regarding the acts of violence in Afghanistan, Iraq extending support to their governments.
  3. BRICS have shared views and commitment to international law and to multilateralism.
  4. BRICS warn to minimize negative spillovers of monetary policy from advanced economies.
  5. BRICS want to raise their economic cooperation to a qualitatively new level, so that the members can develop inclusively.
  6. BRICS announce the signing of an agreement to establish the New Development Bank.

  • BRICS New Development Bank: BRICS nations launched a $100 billion development bank and a Currency Reserve Arrangement (CRA), marking their first remarkable step since the formation of BRICS group. Few features of the bank are as follows:
  1. Indian will have the presidency of the bank for the next 6    years with headquarters in Shanghai, China.
  2. India's presidency will be followed by Brazil and Russia and they will have a 5 year term each.
  3. A CRA worth $100 billion will be formed, that will help countries to deal with short-term liquidity pressures, for which China will contribute the largest amount at $41 billion, followed by India, Russia and Brazil with $18 billion each and South Africa with $5 billion.

"The agreement towards setting up the BRICS New Development Bank is a significant step. I am happy the initiative announced in 2012 in Delhi has become a reality," Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi said.
This summit and its credentials are being termed as the "Rise of a New Empire" due to the remarkable establishment of the New Development Bank. The European banks and the economy are going through a very bad phase in such conditions if three of the world's fastest growing economies, India, China and Brazil can make influential foreign ties and provide a healthy market for investors, then they can not only have a sustained business market but can reduce the dependency on EURO banks to a large extent.

Analysts say that Indian rupee can be the most used currency in the world within a decade, in such conditions forming a sustainable macroeconomic model can be very helpful in the inclusive growth of all the 5 nations as they constitute almost half of the world's population and carry one fifth of the world's trade.

The BRICS bank will be lending money from the common fund to developing countries who are otherwise completely dependent on funding agencies like the IMF(International Monetary Fund) and the World Bank, which are greatly dominated by the West. According to the declaration, "the purpose of the bank was to mobilise resources for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in BRICS and other emerging and developing economies." Rousseff said, "It will help contain the volatility faced by diverse economies as a result of the tapering of the United States' policy of monetary expansion. It is a sign of the times, which demand reform of the International Monetory Fund (IMF)."

Now the success of the New Development Bank and the BRICS nations will highly depend upon their co-ordination, if they can form a sustainable economic model in order to provide a better market to the investors rather than falling in unnecessary border disputes with the fellow members.
